Requests for Prayer

St Thomas' Handshake to Kware' started as a vision from God, and we are constantly reminded that God is in the driving seat.  The work is not without it's difficulties and we constantly need to lift our friends in Kware and the work they do to the Lord for his blessing and protection.

A speedy completion of the Hospital and School

  • Finances are required to start the Hospital and School foundations: Please pray for a speedy completion of the hospital. When the first few rooms of the hospital have been completed, the clinic and it's work will move into it. At the moment, because of its location, those patients who are able to pay are reluctant to visit. Once it moves into the hospital, these patients will help subsidise the cost of treating those who cannot afford it.

  • School
At the end of 2003, the mortgage on the school land was paid off in full. An anonymous donation of £30,000 means that funds are now available to start the foundations of this 1000 pupil Primary School.  Praise God!  Prayers for the build as it now starts.

Long Term Prayers

  • Please pray for the safety of all in Kware. The schools and clinic are in very run down areas of Nairobi and there is daily fear of safety for Benn, Hellen and the people who are working there.  There have been several car jackings and an armed raid on the clinic.
  • Please pray for all legal matters in Nairobi to be dealt with without delay and in accordance with God's will.
  • Please pray for those who are working out there. Many are unpaid and those that are, are doing it for a very small amount. Ask the Lord to bless them in their lives in ways that we could not possibly imagine.
  • Please pray for continued support for the charity.  The charity is having a huge impact in the area and only through continued support will they be able to continue the work and build the hospital and school.
  • Please pray for the Committee running the Charity.  Please pray for wisdom and guidance. Pray that where they need help, the people with the right skills are found to help support the work
